Nearly everyone will make a credit mistake in their life. But, it shouldn’t take seven-years for them to have it removed from their record.
I feel like many people will make a mistake regarding their credit. Ever been denied for a small credit application only to learn something from five, six, or even seven years ago came up and caused the denial?
As your congressman, I will push to reform how credit works. I plan to impose strict federal interest caps of no more than 18% on credit, or better. No more 29.99%+ interest rates on credit cards who take advantage of consumers.
I will also reduce the number from seven-years on credit reports to be no more than three-years. We need to allow others to get back off of their feet, not keep pushing them down more and more.
